Darian D. Atwood Warsaw, OH Death, Obituary: Darian Atwood, 16-Year-Old River View Student-Athlete, Dies Suddenly

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Darian David Atwood, age 16, of Warsaw, who departed this life on Monday, April 20, 2026. Known affectionately to family and friends as “Double D” and “Tub Tub,” Darian was a vibrant and beloved young man whose presence brought joy to all who knew him.

Born on January 6, 2010, in Zanesville, Darian was the son of Jonathan C. Atwood and Haylee A. Nixon. He was a freshman at River View High School, where he distinguished himself as a talented and dedicated student-athlete. Darian excelled in baseball, soccer, and wrestling, earning recognition as an all-star and demonstrating both discipline and teamwork.

Darian will be remembered for his cheerful spirit, kind heart, and unmistakable sense of humor. He had a strong will and a deep faith that guided him throughout his life. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and riding motorcycles, and embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. Looking ahead, he had expressed a desire to follow in his father’s footsteps and one day serve as an Army Ranger—a testament to his ambition and sense of purpose.

He is survived by his loving parents; his siblings, Drake and Dezlynn Atwood; his grandparents, Trecia Atwood, David and Beth Nixon, and Dave and Ann Laughlin; his nephews, Trusten and Asher Atwood; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his cherished dog, Creed.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Stanley Atwood, and great-grandparents Don and Nancy Nixon and Larry “Hoot” Gribble.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with burial to follow at Dutch Run Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to River View Athletic Boosters in Darian’s honor. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
