It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elton P. “Juppy” Muth, age 72, of Longswamp Township, who died suddenly on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Tower Health – Reading Hospital and Medical Center in West Reading.
Elton was the beloved husband of Nancy L. (Sheeler) Muth, with whom he shared nearly 37 years of marriage, having wed on July 15, 1989. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Catherine “Cass” R. (Adam) Muth of Longswamp Township and the late Oscar G. Muth Jr., who passed away in 2013. He was raised in a family grounded in hard work, responsibility, and a deep connection to farming and the land.
A 1972 graduate of Brandywine Heights High School in Topton, Elton built a life defined by dedication and strong work ethic. Over the years, he worked for several companies including East Penn Manufacturing Co., Inc., Lyons, Jerry Hartman Roofing, and Dennis Gehman Roofing. However, his true passion remained agriculture and farm life.
Elton devoted much of his life to farming, assisting on his family farm and later working with Vista Grande Farms, LLC in Fleetwood as an equipment operator and farm assistant. He especially enjoyed hauling cattle and livestock to local fairs for family and friends and also served as a trusted driver within the local Mennonite community.
He is survived by his loving wife Nancy, his mother Cass, his daughter Megan L. (Muth), wife of Kyle A. Noss of Longswamp Township, and his cherished grandchildren Harper R. Noss and Amber S. Noss. He is also survived by his sister Cathleen “Tutty” R. (Muth), wife of Larry Wisser of Lynnville.
