It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Jameson Riley Crawford, age 14, of Salem, Indiana, who departed this life on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
Born on February 23, 2012, in Scottsburg, Indiana, Jameson was the beloved son of the late Annette Wheeler and James Richard Crawford Jr., who survives. Though his time was far too short, Jameson’s life was filled with curiosity, creativity, and a spirit that brought joy to those around him.
Jameson attended Life Tabernacle and was known for his bright personality and vivid imagination. He found happiness in the simple things he loved most—fishing, four-wheeling, and working with his hands, often taking things apart just to understand how they worked and putting them back together again. He also had a talent for drawing and a deep appreciation for spending time with his family. His laughter and ability to make others smile will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his father; his grandparents, Mike and Betty Cozart, James Crawford Sr., Pam Wheeler, Beverly (John) Wheeler, and Laura Moore; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, siblings, and cousins who loved him dearly. Each of them carries cherished memories of a young life that, while brief, made a lasting impact.
Jameson was preceded in death by his mother, Annette Wheeler, and his great-grandmother, Phyllis Crawford. Their memory remained an important part of his life and story.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 5:00 PM on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Dawalt Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Rodney Wineinger. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Jameson’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
