It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Chelsea Elizabeth Pirtle, age 24, of Carthage, Tennessee, who departed this life on Monday, April 20, 2026.
Chelsea was born on October 3, 2001, in Carthage, Tennessee, and was the beloved daughter of Wesley David Pirtle and Tara Lynn Runnells Pirtle. From a young age, she was known for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and the meaningful connections she formed with those around her. She was a member of South Carthage Missionary Baptist Church, where her faith and presence were a valued part of the community.
Chelsea is preceded in death by her grandmothers, Flora “Flo” Mabery Runnells and Ginger Duchow Pirtle, whose memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
She is survived by her loving parents, Wesley and Tara Pirtle of Carthage, Tennessee; her siblings, Lexie Wade of Carthage and Ethan Pirtle of Lafayette; and her significant other, Jessie Sevier of Carthage. She is also survived by her grandfathers, David Runnells of Carthage and Wayne Pirtle of Nashville, along with extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Chelsea’s life will be honored and celebrated with funeral services on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Carthage Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes, with Eld. David Silcox officiating. Interment will follow at Smith County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on the same day from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to assist with funeral expenses in lieu of flowers.
Chelsea Elizabeth Pirtle will be remembered with love, respect, and deep affection by all who knew her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
